What Is The Diana Screen®
The Diana Screen® captures three kinds of information to identify a person's sexual risk to children.
Today, in the United States there are 43 million men and women who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Only 1% of their abusers have criminal convictions. The Diana Screen® is a simple test that goes beyond criminal background checks to keep the children in your group safe.
Applicants answer 123 questions online at a computer in the organization's office.
The Diana Screen® takes five minutes staff time to administer and 20 minutes for an applicant to complete.
The Diana Screen® is a risk management tool that reduces the risk that your group's children will be sexually abused and reduces the risk that your group will face expensive sexual misconduct lawsuits. (From 2004 to 2008, the Roman Catholic Church has paid nearly $2.1 billion in legal claims related to child sexual abuse by clerics)1

WHAT IS
|
WHAT WE BELIEVEThe people at Abel Screening are dedicated to protecting children. We believe every parent should know that their children have the greatest sexual abuse protection possible when they are cared for by others away from home. THE DIANA SCREEN®, by screening out prospective volunteers and employees who present a sexual risk, improves the child's sexual safety by an estimated 70%. For 20 years Abel Screening has been developing cutting-edge technology to keep children safe. THE DIANA SCREEN® is our sixth test. It is a breakthrough in technology - 18 years in the making - that gives child care groups a way to add more sexual protection to children than has ever been possible. Gene G. Abel, M.D., president of Abel Screening, Inc., is an internationally recognized pioneer in the sexual protection of children. The federal government has awarded him six long-term National Institute of Mental Health grants to study the prevention of child molestation. Dr. Abel has published 150 scientific articles in medical journals and criminal justice books and on the Attorney General's Department of Justice website. Now, those findings are being put to a practical use. As we work with religious and secular groups to protect the children in their care, it's important to us to form a partnership. As we work with you to protect children, we will support you with the greatest respect for your organization. We will provide the highest quality in scientific technology and immediate customer service. Together we can establish a new era in child safety. |
